Lucky Singaporean Fan Presents the

Carlsberg Man of the Match Award to Andrea Pirlo at

UEFA EURO 2012™ Semi-Finals

Singapore, 29 June 2012 – Today, Singaporean Vishal Singh Kanwar fulfilled a lifelong dream to travel to the European Football Championships and got an insight behind the scenes, as he presented Italian star Andrea Pirlo with the Carlsberg Man of the Match Award at the UEFA EURO 2012™ Germany v Italy semi-final match in Warsaw, Poland. Italy now goes on to Kiev to play Spain in the UEFA EURO 2012™ Final.

A delighted Vishal enthused after the presentation, “What a fantastic day! After such a great match watching Italy take their place in the Final, it just kept getting better. I showed how football is part of my life in a competition back home and I can’t believe I got to meet Andrea Pirlo and present him with the Carlsberg Man of the Match Award today...amazing. I would like to thank Carlsberg for making this happen and good luck to Italy in the final game on Sunday!”

Carlsberg, now in its seventh consecutive European Championships tournament sponsorship, has been recognising the courage and passion in those fans willing to show the world what they would do to be at UEFA EURO 2012™, by helping them get closer to the action. Carlsberg ambassador and UEFA Legend Peter Schmeichel added, “"There were a few players to choose from. Mario Balotelli scored two goals and I can't remember seeing Gianluigi Buffon play so well, but I think this fellow here, Andrea Pirlo, produced the best performance of the EURO so far. His ability with the ball, his passing, the way he frustrated the Germans today, it was a piece of art and I'd like to congratulate him because he was absolutely fantastic – and congratulations on reaching the final as well."
